Clients - Ban Clients
Instructions for banning and unbanning clients in the Shasta Cloud Portal, including steps for accessing client sections, confirming actions, and viewing event history.

Prerequisites
- Sign in to the Shasta Cloud Portal.
- From the left-hand menu, select Clients to open the Clients page.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Ban a client
Banning a client prevents it from connecting to the network and moves it to the Banned list. Follow the steps below to ban a client from the network.
Step-1: Access the Clients Section
- Navigate to the Clients section in the Shasta Cloud Portal.
- Locate the client you want to ban from the list
Step-2: Open the Ban Menu and Confirm the Action
- At the end of the row for the selected client, click the breadcrumb (⋮) icon to open additional options.
- Select Ban Client from the menu.
- A confirmation dialog will appear. Click Yes to proceed.
- Click Cancel if you do not wish to proceed.
Step-3: View Confirmation Message
- A notification will confirm that the client has been successfully banned.
Step-4: Client Moves to the Banned List:
- The banned client is removed from the Connected Clients list.
- It is now visible under the Historical quick filter.
- You can also find the client under the Banned quick filter.
Step-5: Alternate method: Using the Client Details Page
- Navigate to the Clients section.
- Click on the client’s name to open its details page.
- Click the Ban Client button on the details page.
Step-6: Confirm the Action
- A confirmation dialog will appear. Click Yes to proceed.
- Click Cancel if you do not wish to proceed.
Remove a ban on a client
Step-1: Access the Banned Clients List
- Navigate to the Clients section in the Shasta Cloud Portal.
- Select the Banned quick filter to display all banned clients
Step-2: Open the Ban Remove Menu
- Locate the client you want to unban.
- Click the breadcrumb (⋮) icon at the end of the row to open additional options.
- Select Remove to lift the ban.
Step-2: Confirm the Action
- A confirmation dialog will appear. Click Yes to proceed.
- Click Cancel if you do not wish to proceed.
Step-3: View Confirmation Message
- A notification will confirm that the action was successful.
- The client will no longer appear in the Banned quick filter.
Step-4: Alternate method: Using the Client Details Page
- Navigate to the Clients section.
- Click on the client’s name to open its details page.
- Click the "x" mark next to the network where you want to lift the ban.
- If the client was banned on multiple networks, you will see all associated networks listed. Select the one(s) you want to unban.
Step-5: Click Apply to finalize the changes.
Step-6: Confirm the Action
- A confirmation dialog will appear. Click Yes to proceed.
- Click Cancel if you do not wish to proceed or selected the option by mistake.
Viewing ban and unbanned events
Step-1: Select the "Historical" or "Banned" quick filter to view the relevant list of clients.
Step-2: Select the Client
- Click on the client you want to view in detail.
- Review the client's history, including banned and unbanned events
