Connected Wireless Clients’ Trends
Step-1: Navigate to the left menu and select Clients. This will display the Clients page
Step-2: Click the expand graph option in the Connected Wireless Clients graph
The Connected Wireless Clients graph provides a visual representation of the number of devices connected to the network over a given period. This helps network administrators monitor client trends, detect anomalies, and assess network utilization.
Understanding the Graph Elements
- X-Axis (Time): Displays the selected time range (e.g., Last 30 Days).
- Y-Axis (Client Count): Represents the number of wireless clients connected at a given time.
- Blue Line with Data Points: Shows the number of clients at different time intervals.
- Shaded Area: Highlights the region under the line chart, making it easier to visualize fluctuations in client connections over time.
Key Insights from the Graph
- Stable Connections: A relatively flat line indicates a consistent number of connected clients.
- Sudden Drops or Spikes: These could signal network issues, configuration changes, or periods of high demand.
- Recurring Patterns: Fluctuations at regular intervals may indicate scheduled device activity or peak usage times.
How to Use the Graph for Troubleshooting
- Frequent Client Disconnections: May indicate signal coverage issues, interference, or network configuration changes.
- Abrupt Drops to Zero: Could suggest access point failures, SSID broadcast issues, or authentication failures.
- High Client Count Spikes: Might indicate unauthorized users, excessive roaming, or an increase in active devices.
Exporting Clients
Step-1: From the table view, click on the Export icon
Step-2: Find the exported file in the Downloads Folder that is set on the browser that you are currently into. The file name is saved as example: Clients List-(45).xlsx
The following information is exported
Column Name | Description |
Name | The name or vendor of the client |
MAC Address | The MAC Address of the client. |
IP Address | The IP Address assigned to the client. |
Network | The name of the network where client connected. |
Identity | Identity name of the user. |
Infrastructure | The name of the infrastructure where client connected. |
Organization | The name of the organization where the client connected. |
Venue | The name of the venue where the client connected. |
VLAN | VLAN Id assigned to the client |
Band | The frequency band used by the client. |
Connected | The timestamp when the client got connected or was last connected. |
Channel | The channel used by the client. |

Specific Client Details
Step-1: Navigate to the left menu and select Clients. This will display the Clients page
Step-2: In the list of clients that are displayed, select any of the listed clients’ by clicking on its name.
This opens the detailed info of the client.
Step-3: Explore the Client details in the Client Details Widget
The Client Details Widget provides a real-time overview of a connected device's status, network information, and connectivity metrics. This widget helps network administrators monitor and analyze client connections, signal strength, and performance.
Considering the above as an example, here is the breakdown of the information.
- Device Details
- Name: Identifies the connected device (e.g., Laptop Dell Inspiron).
- Private IP: Displays the device's assigned local IP address (192.168.1.79).
- Connection Duration: Indicates how long the device has been connected (5 minutes).
- Identity: Additional user or device identification (currently not assigned).
- Network Information
- SSID (Network Name): Displays the connected network (Everest).
- Wi-Fi Band: Indicates the frequency band used (2G).
- Channel & Bandwidth: Specifies the operating channel and width (Channel 1, 40 MHz).
- VLAN: Shows the VLAN assignment (not configured in this example).
- RSSI (Signal Strength): Measures the received signal strength (55 dBm).
- Physical Data Rates:
- TX Rate (Transmit): 108 Mbps
- RX Rate (Receive): 52 Mbps
- Infrastructure & Location
- Access Point (AP): Identifies the AP the client is connected to (Living Room AP-101).
- Venue: Specifies the physical location (Tower 3).
Step-4: Explore the Client Events’ timeline.
Various columns that are displayed in the Events table are:
Column Name | Type | Description | Hide able | Filter | Sorting | Search | Hover action | Click action |
Time | Timestamp | Timestamp when the event got raised. | No | No | Yes | No | Yes, Displays as example: Last Updated: March 08, 2025 at 12:39:28 AM (IST) | No |
Severity | Categorical | Severity of the event | No | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | No |
Event | Categorical | Type of the event | No | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | No |
Details | Text | Textual description of the event | No | No | No | No | No | Yes, if the event has URLs, then those URLs can be clicked for navigation. |
Various events/event types that are displayed in the Client event timeline are:
- Connect
- Disconnect
- Reconnect
- AAA Server not Responding
- AAA Server Rejected Authentication
- PSK/Passphrase Mismatch
- Banned
- Unbanned
Functional Elements
- Connection Status Indicators: Displays whether the device is Connected and the AP is Online.
- Refresh Button: Allows users to update client information in real-time.
Exporting Client Event timeline
Step-1: Navigate to the left menu and select Clients. This will display the Clients page
Step-2: Click and enter a selected client page.
Step-3: From the table view, click on the Export icon
Step-4: Find the exported file in the Downloads Folder that is set on the browser that you are currently into. The file name is saved as example: Events List-(All)-(b8a25d988ec7).xlsx
The following information is exported
Column Name | Description |
Time | The timestamp when the event occurred. |
Severity | The severity of the event (Minor, Major, Critical). |
Event | A brief title or type of the event. |
Details | A detailed description of the event. |
AAA Attributes | AAA radius attributes for the event. |
InfraId | The unique identifier for the infrastructure. |
InfraCategory | The category of the infrastructure (1: Access Point, 2: Switch). |
Renaming Clients with a nickname
Step-1: Navigate to the left menu and select Clients. This will display the Clients page Hover the mouse near the name of the Client in the name column, you will find the edit icon appear, as shown below.
Step-2: In the text box that appears in place of the name, enter the Nickname.
